How Businesses Can Use Architecture Photography to Their Advantage

Excellent commercial photography is a crucial component to the success of any business. Without images to show off your products or services, you’re not left with much to prove to potential customers and clients that what you have to offer is valuable. You can’t expect your audience to trust your word or declarations alone—they need something more tangible to convince them that the claims you make about your company and its quality are true.

That’s where the art of architecture photography comes in.

For many types of businesses, striking photos of your building or property can be very effective at reaching and attracting more customers. Check out just a few of the many valuable ways you can put professional architecture photography to work for your business!

High-quality photos of your facilities will enhance your website, branding, and marketing materials.

A majority of consumers have trouble visualizing a product or service based on description alone. They need something to make your company and its offerings feel real, rather than just like an abstract concept on paper or screen. Images of your physical business will help potential customers imagine themselves in your space and, if done skillfully, make them want to be there.

Use architecture photography on your website, billboards, paper ads, and other marketing materials to draw people in and get them wanting to explore more information about your company. This type of photography is especially engaging if your business involves selling the space itself, such as for hotels, event venues, or real estate.

Architecture photography helps you nail your first impression on potential customers and/or clients.

A photo is often the first experience a customer has with your business. It is not uncommon for people to form an opinion about your company and its products or services based on an image alone, without even bothering to see for themselves in person. Photos of your business, therefore, are your first chance to represent your company in a positive light.

Architecture photography will paint a picture for customers, convey an ambiance, and show them what to expect from you. If they see that you care enough to cultivate a high-quality physical space for your business, they are more likely to trust that your products and services are high-quality as well.

Use architecture photography to sell your property or design concepts.

Architecture photography highlights the best of what your space has to offer. If you’re trying to sell design services or the property itself, showcasing architectural features, details, and other unique characteristics is essential for attracting buyers or new clients.

A professional architecture photographer will have the training, skill, and equipment necessary to put your property’s best foot forward and on display for the people who matter. There is no better way to get buyers interested in a building you’re selling or that you’ve designed than to show off exactly what makes it a stunning, one-of-a-kind investment.

Photos of your building or architectural project can serve as documentation for investors.

The concept of architecture photography encompasses more than just finished buildings and properties. This type of photography can also include the construction process, chronicling the progress of a building from initial concept to final product.

These photos can serve as required documentation for contractors working on your property and investors who want to know how their money is being used. It’s also a nice way to document the various phases of your business or property coming to life for future marketing and sentimental purposes.

Architectural Photography - Charlotte

I really enjoy doing architectural photography as it often gets me to think out of the box a bit and it takes my back to my first attempt at photographing buildings for college projects. This project was to shoot interiors for a commercial furniture company called Allsteel in Charlotte. The shoot actually took place at an architect firm's office - ADW. The idea was to promote the company's furniture in a real working space. We shot a mixture of the space with and without people. I've recently started to enjoy adding people to building photography as I think it adds another dimension to the photography. It also shows the lifestyle that people can enjoy in the space. Here are some of the photos from the commercial photography project in Charlotte NC.

Commercial photography in Durham, NC

First blog post in a while as I've been crazy busy (which is a good thing). We were asked to photograph a brand new apartment complex in Swift Avenue in Durham NC. The property is called 300 Swift and was built and managed by Greystar. This would be a great place to live if you were attending Duke University or working at the hospital. We've been doing a lot of real estate and building photography lately and architectural photography is one of my favorite subjects. Here are some images from the shoot:
