Food Photography Cary NC

Last week we spent an afternoon over at Rey's restaurant in Cary NC photographing the food for the restaurant's new website. Rey's Restaurant was founded in 2004 and is a steakhouse with a New Orleans, French-Quarter twist. Head chef and owner A. Rey Arias and his staff do an excellent job with dishes ranging from pan seared scallops to Bone-in Rib-eye. And if the mood takes you they do a terrific chicken and sausage gumbo. We had the pleasure of sampling all of the food, as well as photographing it, and it was excellent, I'll certainly be going back there.

Real Estate Photography Raleigh

A beautiful new apartment community has been built in downtown Raleigh on Wilmington Street. Its called Elan City Center and is managed by Greystar, a company known for their quality properties. We were asked to go and shoot it prior to their residents moving in. We love doing architecture photography so this project was a really nice one to get. We do a lot of building photography in Raleigh and it appears that there are a lot of these new communities sprouting up especially downtown. Commercial photography Raleigh Charlotte

Halfway through a big shoot this week for Paragon. First leg was in Raleigh, now off to Charlotte to continue. Love working with Ad Agencies and Art Directors, we made a good team and got some great photos even faced with some real challenges. Food Photography Cary NC

As I have often written, one of my favorite things to photograph is food. So I was really excited when one of my favorite restaurants asked me to come in and photograph their food.

"An", which means "to dine" in Vietnamese, is an amazing restaurant. The restaurant showcases the flavors of Asian food with those of modern European. The Culinary Director is Steven Deveraux Greene who is also the Executive Chef of the AA "Five Diamond" award winning restaurant Heron's, at The Umstead Hotel and Spa - another of my favorites. Chef de Cuisine at An restaurant is Joshua Hughes and he and Steven have worked together for ten years.

For this photo shoot we really wanted to highlight the produce which is all sourced locally- some of which is actually grown on their own farm. Hope you enjoy the photos:

Had fun the other night driving around Hasentree photographing Xmas lights for a lighting installation company. Some of these people go all out. It was pretty cool to see how great the sky looked in long exposure HDR. Here are some of the images.
